Ir Albert Lai Kwong-tak  
Mr Lai Kwong-tak

A civil engineer by training, Ir Albert Lai is the Chairman of the Professional Commons and the founding Chairman of the Hong Kong People's Council for Sustainable Development. He is a director and past chairman of the Conservancy Association, the first non-governmental environmental group established in Hong Kong in 1968. He led the Hong Kong NGO delegation to the World Summit on Sustainable Development held in South Africa in 2002, and was also co-leader of the Hong Kong NGO delegation to the United Nations Climate Change Conferences in Bali (2007) and Copenhagen (2009).

Ir Albert Lai writes regularly on newspapers and speaks frequently in various civil society forums on climate change, sustainability and development issues. His views are well-sought after by corporate leaders and policy-makers.

  

Ir Dr Michael K H Leung
Ir Dr Michael  K H Leung

Ir Dr Michael K H Leung is an Associate Professor in the School of Energy and Environment at the City University of Hong Kong. He is also a registered professional engineer and chartered engineer. His teaching and research interests include energy efficiency, renewable energy and air quality. He has received more than HK$9 million research funding. His works have been published in more than 70 journals, 50 conference papers, four patents and three books.

Ir Dr Leung is presently Chairman of the Energy Institute (Hong Kong Branch). The mission of the Institute is to promote safe, efficient and environmental-friendly supply and use of energy in all forms and applications.

Before joining the City University, Ir Dr Leung was Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Hong Kong.

  

Dr Ka Kui Tse

Dr KK Tse founded his own management consulting company, K K Tse & Associates, in 1992, specializing in Total Quality Management, Business Process Re-engineering, Change Management, Leadership Development and Corporate Governance, after holding senior executive positions in the Lam Soon Group and Shui On Group for many years.

Dr Tse has been a pioneer in introducing Japanese and Western management approaches to Hong Kong and adapting them to local conditions. He has set up one of the most successful Quality Circles program in Hong Kong and was the Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong Quality Circles Association and President of the Hong Kong Society for Training & Development for three consecutive years (1989-92).

Dr Tse writes prolifically on various management subjects in both English and Chinese, including the book "Marks & Spencer: Anatomy of Britain's Most Efficiently Managed Company"(Oxford: Pergamon Press, 1985), which was subsequently translated into the Chinese and Russian languages and published in Hong Kong, Beijing and Moscow respectively.

After retirement in 2000, Dr Tse has been active in the promotion of social entrepreneurship in Hong Kong and China. Currently, he is Chairman of the newly incorporated Hong Kong Social Entrepreneurship Forum and Founding Editor of the electronic biweekly Social Entrepreneurs Newsletter published since June 2007. He has also edited and organised the translation of several books telling the success stories of social entrepreneurs.

Dr Tse obtained his B.Soc.Sc. degree in sociology and economics ( First Class Honours) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and was awarded M.A. and Ph.D. by the University of Manchester, UK. He also holds an MBA degree from the Cranfield School of Management, UK.

  

Prof Yang Hong-xing

Prof Yang received his B.Eng in 1982 and M.Eng in 1985 in the Department of HVACR Engineering of Tianjin University, China. He obtained his PhD in 1993 in the University of Wales College of Cardiff, UK. He has been involved in renewable energy R&D projects throughout his career in Chinese mainland, Britain and Hong Kong including geothermal energy, solar energy and wind energy resources. He is now leading the Renewable Energy Research Group (RERG) in the Department of Building Services Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His research interests cover building energy conservation and renewable energy studies, especially solar photovoltaic, ground source heat pumps and wind power generation. He has published over 150 academic papers and 2 books. He has made very good achievements in this area. Prof Yang is also a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers.
